Why Are Women Joining Largs SWI?
Because we offer far more than membership of an organisation.
We offer friendship, creativity, confidence, learning, community, support and a place where women of all ages can come together, try something new and truly belong.
At Largs SWI, there really is something for everyone.

How Your Membership Fee Works
Your membership fee is shared between three organisations:
• National SWI – £36
• Ayrshire Federation – £6
• Largs SWI Institute Share – £18
Although the true institute share should now be £19 per member, Largs SWI will continue to subsidise every full membership by £1, helping to keep membership as affordable as possible while continuing to provide exceptional opportunities and experiences for members.
As grant funding becomes increasingly limited, this contribution helps us continue to deliver the ambitious programme of events, workshops, clubs and activities that our members enjoy throughout the year.

What Your Membership Makes Possible
When you join Largs SWI, your membership helps support one of Scotland’s most active, successful and award-winning women’s communities.
Your membership fee directly helps us provide:
Creative Opportunities
A wide range of creative workshops and clubs including Sewing Club, Yarn Club, Crochet Club, Glass Fusing, Quilting, Decoupage workshops and many other hands-on learning experiences throughout the year.
Social Connection
Weekly Coffee Mornings, social evenings, theatre trips, summer outings, Christmas celebrations and countless opportunities to meet like-minded women and build lasting friendships.
Learning New Skills
Regular guest speakers, educational workshops, wellbeing sessions, sustainability projects, mindfulness classes and opportunities to explore new interests in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Subsidised Member Activities
Membership income and fundraising allow us to subsidise member activities and reduce the cost of special events, outings, workshops and experiences throughout the year.
Community Projects
Large-scale community projects such as our Wedding Dress Exhibition, community sewing initiatives, collaborative partnerships and funded programmes that benefit both members and the wider local community.
External Funding Opportunities
Successful grant applications have allowed us to secure thousands of pounds of additional funding, enabling us to deliver ambitious projects and expand opportunities for learning, creativity and community engagement.
A Thriving Community for Women
Most importantly, your membership helps us continue building a welcoming space where women of all ages can connect, learn new skills, share experiences, build confidence and be part of something truly special.
At Largs SWI, every membership helps us continue growing, innovating and creating opportunities that directly benefit our members and community.
Together, we are building something extraordinary.
